Welcome back!

We had the honor of photographing Alex and Jackie’s wedding in Menifee, CA. It was a beautiful sunny day with love felt from all which made the day even lovelier. We present to you now their wedding and their love story. Congratulations again to the happy couple!

Q. Tell us how you first met? Give us the dirty details.
A.
Jackie- “We
met our sophomore year at Perris High School. I had seen Alex and
thought he was cute.¬†ūüėȬ†When I pointed him out to one of my friends, it
turned out she had a class with him and she knew him. My friend and I
came up with a ‘plan’, so that I could meet him. We went up to Alex
during our break, and she asked him if she could take a picture with
him, I took their picture and as I was walking away he asked if I could
take a picture with him. The plan turned out better than expected, we were introduced to each, took a picture together, and the rest is history.”
Alex- “I thought she was pretty and¬†I couldn’t help but ask for a picture with her since she was cute and had a nice demeanor.”

Q. When did you know he/she was the one? Was there something he/she did?
A.
Jackie- “I
knew he was the one the day he gave me a promise ring. I realized that
he was serious about our relationship, and that we both pictured our
future together.”
Alex- “There wasnt really a specific¬†event that made
realize she was the one, I just felt that the 1st year together after
high school she put a lot of effort into getting me on track and into
college, she even took all of my information and registerd me in my
classes. I just couldnt believe how much she cared about me, without her
I’d be lost and who knows where.”

Q. Tell us about the proposal.
A.
Jackie- “I had no idea Alex was going to propose. We
went out to dinner to celebrate our 4 year anniversary. After dinner he
took me to the ice skating rink at the mission inn. Our time was up and
we had to get off the ice, but Alex asked if we could do an extra lap by
ourselves, since we were celebrating our anniversary. Half way through
the lap, he let go of my hand, when I turned around he was on one knee! I
was shocked, I had no idea it was coming. I felt so happy and excited,
and I couldn’t hold back the tears of joy.”

Alex-¬†“It had been almost six months since I realized¬†I was going to finally propose. Around July of 2011¬†I finally made up my mind. At work all¬†I could do was Google engagement rings and proposal ideas. On November 30, 2011, I asked her dad if¬†I could marry his daughter. After a lengthy conversation I still didn’t know if he was OK with it, so i said, “So, can¬†I marry her?” He then¬†jokingly¬†said, “Well its up to her, but as for me, I’m OK with it”. The day before¬†I proposed, I contacted Anthony and Sonia to take candid pictures of the event.¬†I asked to go on the ice with Jackie one more time since¬†I was going to propose, the staff at the ice rink let us go on. That’s¬†where I proposed, but¬†I was not too nervous as¬†I was more excited than anything else.”

Q. Tell us the one thing you love most about each other.
A. Jackie- “I love that he’s a very caring and helpful
person. He is the kind of guy who pulls over on the side of the road to
help people out with their car, and he loves to buy food for the
homeless and gives them money when he can.”

Alex- “I¬†love how nurturing Jackie is to me, it seems that my health and well being is more important than her own!¬†I
feel that I worry about her health more than my own, but I think its a good
balance.”

Q. Share with us something silly or quirky the other person does.
A
. Jackie- “When Alex is sick, he is the biggest baby ever. He even talks to me with a baby voice, and he loves when I baby him.”
Alex- “Jackie does a lot of celebration dances, she
will do a dance for anything, even catching a fish, getting a deal on
clothes, or most memorably, buying new Nike running shoes.”

Q. Now that you’re married, what’s the one thing you’re looking forward to in your future together?
A.
Jackie- “I’m really looking forward to starting a family together¬†and traveling to different places.”
Alex- “I¬†am most excited about just being together
and seeing different places together. It was hard to travel and see
things due to the fact that Jackie had to be home before
midnight,¬†hahahaha!! (OK not really, but it felt like it.)”

Q. What inspired your decor or theme?
A.
Jackie & Alex- “We wanted to have a wedding that was
different from¬†the weddings we’ve been to. Since¬†our wedding was in May
we decided to go with a brighter color, which is why we chose coral. As
far as the tuxedo’s, we didn’t want the groomsmen¬†to wear black,¬†so we
decided grey would go well with coral.”

Q. What’s one thing you wish you would have known earlier in regards to planning?
A. Jackie & Alex- “I
wish I wold have thought about assigning a task to everyone who offered
to help with decorating rather than waiting until the day before to try
to figure out what we were doing, and who would be responsible for
certain things. I¬†think if we would have delegated more tasks, things would have gone a lot smoother.”

Q. What was your absolute favorite moment at your wedding?
A.
Jackie- “My
favorite moment at the wedding was our first dance. That was the moment
when we didn’t¬†pay attention to anything around us, it was as if we
were in our¬†own little world.”
Alex- “I¬†think the first dance was the only moment
where I felt that this all about us, it was nice to ignore everyone
around us for those few minutes. I also liked the slide show that
Jackie’s sister¬†Liz made us.”¬†
