Welcome Back!

If there is one thing I would recommend every couple, despite their budget, their theme, or their wedding attire, is that they absolutely have a Day of Timeline. Think around 2 weeks before the wedding…you have to finalize your order with the florist, you have to double check with the baker, you have to sit down and finalize the menu with the caterer, you have to email your shot list to your photographer, & more! What do you do to ease the headaches? You’re going to write it down as a to do list so that you make sure nothing is missed and everything is taken care of for your wedding, right? So why wouldn’t you do the same for yourself on the day of your wedding?

A Day of Timeline is the perfect thing you can do to plan ahead and know when things are supposed to happen and our rule is to always add an additional 30min for insurance. Just because your house/hotel that you’re getting ready at is only 10 minutes away from the ceremony location, doesn’t mean that you can leave exactly 10 minutes before the ceremony starts. Because by the time you tell everyone “Let’s go!” and everyone grabs their things, goes over the must have list before everything is left behind, get’s to the parking lot, drives to the convention, everyone gets out of the car, wait for so&so because they caught the red light, & then walk in….that is about 30 minutes right there. I think it’s safe to say that you definitely get what we mean (hahaha). But this is the exact reason why we think it is very important to have a timeline.

Think about the vendors too. The DJ needs to know when you’re going to plan all the details after you make your grand entrance, as well as the caterers, your photographers and of course, the two of you! It’s easy to get caught up in the excitement, and before you know it, Oh no! 2 hours already passed and nothing has happened and you don’t want your guests to get bored, and you only have 2 hours left at the venue before it’s all over.

Here is a link for your downloading convenience and an image of what our timelines look like. As professional photographers, we sit down with the two of you and go over the details of your wedding day about 2-3 weeks before the event because out of all your vendors, we are in your faces the entire day, so we need to make sure that these details are definitely set so we know what is going to happen next to get the shot.

It can be overwhelming seeing everything on paper but it will definitely put your mind at ease when everything is set and you know yourself what is supposed to happen, versus trying to figure that out in the moment of. Also, there are a ton of variations of this, however this is the simplest format we work with that tells everyone when and where they need to be, and what to expect to happen.

Have an amazing day, and remember to breathe.
